I brought Sunday Riley Luna facial oil about 4 weeks ago, and was reluntanct to write about it until I had given it a really good go, Now I have used it for a while I thought I would give you my opinion on it. First of all let me tell you a bit about it. It’s a sleeping night oil, I love sleeping oils as I love the idea that you wake up with a “new face”. It claims to help with pore size, winkles and the look of damaged skin. The oil contains cold pressed avocado, chia, and Concord grape seed oils and it sinks into the skin quickly without giving you a greasy feeling. This oil is a bright blue colour, which looks bizarre, yet cool and this is because of the ingredient Blue Tansy, which is anti bacterial and inflammatory and has a calming effect on the skin. The colour fades as you rub it into the skin. This is also retinoid oil product, so not suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Now my thoughts, this is a beautiful oil, rich and soothing to the skin. The scent isn’t over powering and you only need 4 drops to get a good distribution across the face. The first night I used it, I was incredibly happy with the results, your skin not only felt so smooth but it looked resurfaced and dewy. Unfortunately with continued use over about 2 and a half weeks, the effect wasn’t the same. I still had a few breakouts and the wow effect I had from the first night didn’t return. What I have now started to do is use it just twice a week, and by doing this I can now see the difference again. Maybe my skin got too used to the oil too quickly? But either way it is a excellent oil once you use it in the way that suits your skin the best. I apply the oil straight after toning, with out any serum in between.
