Summer bodies are made in Winter and Spring. So at the back end of last year I started working on my diet and fitness, and now the weather is warming up and you may want to show a little more skin, I was lucky enough to be invited to the beautiful Thai Square Spa in Covent Garden to have the ultimate body softening treatment Mother Of Pearl Body Exfoliation, which would get you holiday ready.

Hidden down Shelton Street, The Thai Square Spa really is a mini Thai resort, As soon as you open the doors and step in, the wonderful aromas fill your senses and you begin to feel relaxed and as though you are million miles away. The decor is traditional and stunningly serene, it really did take me back to my Thai holiday.

Now for the treatment. First you take a seat and place your feet into some warm water and oils whilst your therapist gives you a gentle foot rub and offers you a glass of Bell Tea, which is said to aid digestion. After this I laid down on the bed and the therapist starts to rub the Mother Of Pearl Body Exfoliation over my body concentrating on my legs and back, which are especially dry from the winter season. The scrub itself is very fine, it almost has a micro-derm abrasion feel to it, but at the same time its very gentle and because it is mother of pearl, it is full of minerals that will benefit the skin.

Relax in the spa area before and after your treatment.

The Mother Of Pearl Body Exfoliation is available within the two new packages at Thai Square Spa, it exfoliates, regenerates and stimulates the skin. The blend also re-balances the body and soothes skin irritations whilst providing relaxation and also acts as a mood enhancement.

At this point you feel incredibly relaxed, to the point where you could fall asleep, and before you know it its time to shower off, which is the… ta dahh! moment to see how soft your skin really feels.

My skin felt amazing, so soft, and absolutely glowing, all the dead skin cells had been lifted,  After washing the scrub off my skin, I was then given a good layer of moisturiser to keep my skin hydrated.  I also couldn’t stop smelling my skin. It smelt dreamy. I had coffee with a friend afterwards and the first thing she said to me was “You smell great”.

Who is this treatment for? Anyone. Especially if you are about to go on holiday. This is a great prep treatment before you spend some time on the beach or if you are fake tanning as your tan will last longer when all your dry skin has been lifted. Its also great for relaxation or if you just want to pamper yourself – the perfect way to get your skin out of hibernation!
